The Shakespeare Pivot
WTC PRESENTS
THE SHAKESPEARE PIVOT
We regret to announce that we were unable to cast our scheduled production of Catsplay. It's a difficult play to cast, and while we have great actors in our community that would do it wonderfully, it didn't work out this time. We still intend to develop the Catsplay project at a later time.
The Shakespeare Pivot!
In the space where Catsplay would have gone up, we would instead like to offer a project we're calling the Shakespeare Pivot, a variety of great scenes from Shakespeare. Under the direction of Andrew Fridae, the emphasis will be bringing the text to life. Many people are intimidated by Shakespeare's verse, or feel it separates them from their dramatic instincts. The goal of this workshop istre@gmail.com by August 23rd indicating your interest and your availability. O to demonstrate the opposite, that the verse is a guide that will help you unlock a more natural connection to your character and the story you tell. The project will culminate in two weekends of performances in a looser, more casual evening of fun. Performances Oct. 4-16 Fri, Sat, Sun.
Rehearsals will be August 27th- October 3rd at the Winters Opera House, 7pm.
Scenes will be chosen according to participants.
If you are a seasoned Shakespeare performer or if you are new to the verse, we invite you to join us ( ages 16+).
